NEW YORK, NY—Engineering News-Record (ENR), McGraw-Hill Construction’s prestigious publication and website and part of The McGraw-Hill Companies, announces that John R. Hillman, founder and president of Chicago-based HC Bridge Co., is the recipient of its 45th annual Award of Excellence. John Hillman received the award in front of 1,000 peers on April 8 at a black-tie awards gala in New York City. He was one of ENR’s Top 25 Newsmakers of 2009, who were also honored.

RMJM Designs Luxury Iconic Hotel in Turkish Capital

Ankara HotelNEW YORK, NY / ANKARA, TURKEY–International architectural company RMJM has designed, on behalf of developer O"zkar Construction Co., a new luxury hotel that will help “green” the Sogutozu district of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey.

Located on a 14,000 square-meter site, the luxurious 24-story J. W. Marriott Hotel devotes the first four floors to spacious ballrooms, meeting facilities, restaurants and shops in a sky-lit galleria,  with guest rooms starting on the fifth floor. The plan also includes an underground parking garage.

Galleries at TurneyPHOENIX, AZ—“The Galleries at Turney”, designed by the nationally-acclaimed architectural firm, [merz]project architecture + interiors + urban design was chosen by the Host Committee of Greenbuild 2009, to be showcased as one of the feature projects during their planned Greenbuild Tours Arizona, with a possible audience of over 25,000 expected conference participants, heading to the American Southwest in late fall 2009.

[merz]project announced that the “Galleries at Turney” will be participating in the 2009 Contemporary Desert Living Tour, as part of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. The conference will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on November 11-13, with a guided architectural tour to wrap up the weeks’ events on Saturday, November 14, 2009.
