As John C. Santora, president and CEO of the Americas at Cushman & Wakefield, walks past bright work stations, translucent offices, and high-tech conference rooms, he is regularly interrupted by coworkers’ greetings. Entirely unperturbed, Santora not only enjoys these interruptions, but encourages them, tapping on glass partitions to spark a quick exchange of pleasantries or simply wave hello.

Chromavis, the Italian cosmetics research and development firm, has opened its first U.S. office—1,500 square feet at 24 West 57th Street. The move establishes the company in the heart of the Plaza District, long the home of many of the world’s top cosmetics companies.
